How does it work? Utilizing advanced technology, the innovative ClimaPak transfers heat away from your insulin and regulates its temperature over an extended period, using power from the rechargeable battery.
How long does the battery last? Battery life is optimized to provide 3-5 days of temperature control with each charge. Prolonged exposure to excessively hot or cold temperatures will require the ClimaPak to expend battery power at an increased rate.
What temperature does ClimaPak maintain? ClimaPak is a portable insulin temperature control device that is programmed to keep your insulin within its prescribed temperature range (44-77° F or 44-86° F). Insulin temperature will remain within that range based on the climate it is exposed to.
How much insulin and what types of insulin does it hold? ClimaPak holds 2 insulin pens, 2 insulin vials or 1 pen and 1 vial. All brands of insulin will fit in the device, including sanofi-aventis, Lilly and Novo Nordisk.
How can I monitor my insulin temperature? ClimaPak constantly measures and displays insulin temperature. These continuous readings trigger on-the-fly adjustments, assuring temperature-safe storage.
What is the average lifespan of ClimaPak? The device is expected to provide optimal performance for 2-4 years.
Can it be used for other medication? Yes, it can be used for vaccines, epi-pens, adrenaline, interferons, antivenoms, growth hormones (HGH), coagulation factors, monoclonal antibodies, thyroid hormones and medically-assisted procreation agents.
Is it covered by insurance? The ClimaPak device is an eligible expense under your Flex Spending Account or Health Savings Account.
Why does my ClimaPak display looks dim sometimes? The ClimaPak digital display is designed to dim when ClimaPak is nearing the end of its battery life. You can expect the display to dim when there is less than approximately 20% battery life remaining.
Can I charge my ClimaPak with a laptop or computer? It is possible to charge ClimaPak from a laptop, but doing so may take 3 times as long as using the provided charger. For best results, make sure your ClimaPak is in Eco Mode while charging from a laptop
